Are those butterflies in your stomach making you feel excited? Nervous?
Here’s what you can be certain of: you get to spend the rest of your life with your bae, your BFF, your ride or die- how freaking cool! That truth is going to be your metaphorical seatbelt on this wedding planning journey- It’s going to keep you nice and safe, especially when things get hard.
Buckle up, here’s some first steps for ya:
WARNING: DO STEP 2 BEFORE STEP 3
(pleasseeee??)
Pop the champagne and tell the story of how they proposed- you’ll be able to tell this story in your sleep by the end of your first week of engagement!
That “just engaged” feeling is one of a kind- so enjoy it!
Don’t forget to set aside some time with just you and your FIANCÉ (such a fun word!) Continue to date each other during your engagement season. You will need the time away from wedding planning to just be with each other- start now!
I know, I know- this one is not giddy or glamorous. Talking about money is one of the hardest parts of wedding planning, but it is necessary to really start planning (i.e.- booking a venue and choosing your date!)
As you start inquiring with vendors, they are going to ask you about your budget.
⬇️ I put together this ✨FREE✨ Wedding Budget Calculator to help you with those first conversations ⬇️
There’s a reason I put a big ‘ol warning at the top of this post- DO STEP 2 BEFORE STEP 3
I know it’s hard, but it’ll save you some heartache in the end if you know what you realistically spend before you start booking vendors and swiping that card.
Once you have an idea about what your budget looks like, start dreaming about how you want to use it!
Head to your wedding Pinterest board (delete the stuff that you pinned in high school-no shame!- that you no longer care for) and start gathering some ideas!
Start delegating
On your wedding day, you want to be present with your friends and family- start delegating NOW to make that possible.
